Progress on EBF Cloud: Identity, Mobile and What Comes Next
As finance workflows continue to move into the cloud, expectations are changing, not just around availability, but around how securely, flexibly and intuitively systems can be accessed and used. At Core Financial Systems, our R&D programme is led by Jim Bradley, Chief Innovation Officer, who oversees the development of our product roadmap and the technologies that underpin it.
With a strong focus on real‑world usability and long‑term scalability, our R&D team has been working to strengthen the foundations of EBF Cloud, ensuring it continues to meet the evolving needs of finance teams operating in modern, cloud‑based environments.
We’re pleased to share that two core EBF Cloud capabilities are now live, marking an important step forward in that journey.
What’s New and Where It Goes Next
EBF Identity (Now Live)
EBF Identity introduces modern authentication and enables secure, browser‑based access to EBF applications. It expands deployment options and supports a more cloud‑native approach, improving user experience while maintaining the security and control finance teams require.
EBF Mobile (Now Live)
EBF Mobile enables workflow approvals, such as purchase orders and invoices, from a mobile phone or tablet. Designed for practical, day‑to‑day finance use, it allows organisations to extend approvals beyond the desktop without compromising governance. Early customer adoption is already underway.
Together, these releases strengthen the access, usability and flexibility of EBF Cloud, addressing long‑standing customer requirements and removing friction from everyday finance workflows.
Where EBF Cloud Is Going
These releases are not standalone features, they form the foundation for the next phase of EBF Cloud.
- Integration with Infor SunSystems Cloud: Development is progressing on the EBF Interface module, which will enable integration between EBF applications and Infor SunSystems Cloud, supporting customers as they move towards cloud‑based finance platforms.
- AI‑Enabled Automation: The upcoming EBF Document API introduces AI‑enhanced document processing, improving automation and efficiency within finance workflows, particularly in areas such as invoice processing.
Building on this, EBF Cloud is evolving towards:
- Identity‑driven, cloud‑native access
- Improved mobility and responsiveness
- A platform that supports future automation and integration
Each step builds on the last, ensuring progress is incremental, usable and aligned to real customer needs.
EBF Identity: Expanding Cloud‑Ready Access
The release of EBF Identity introduces modern authentication and significantly expands the range of deployment options available for EBF applications.
At a practical level, this enables secure direct access to EBF applications via a standard web browser, without relying on traditional desktop‑based workarounds. It represents a move toward a more cloud‑native approach, improving the user experience while maintaining the controls and security finance teams expect.
This work reflects a broader shift away from replicating on‑premises models in the cloud, and instead leveraging modern identity and access patterns that are better suited to today’s environments.
EBF Mobile: Workflow Approvals in the Palm of Your Hand
Also now available is EBF Mobile, which enables workflow approvals, such as purchase orders and invoices from a mobile phone or tablet.
Mobile approvals have been a long‑standing request from a number of customers, and the focus here has been on delivering something that is simple, intuitive and genuinely useful in day‑to‑day finance operations. The initial release supports rapid implementation and configuration, allowing organisations to extend approvals beyond the desktop without compromising governance.
Early customer interest has been strong, and initial rollouts are already underway.

Mobile Approvals
Built for Practical Adoption
What links both of these releases is a consistent design philosophy: solving real problems faced by finance teams as cloud adoption accelerates.
Rather than adding complexity, the goal has been to:
- Reduce friction for end users
- Improve access and responsiveness
- Lay foundations that support future capability
These modules form part of a broader investment in EBF Cloud that prioritises practical progress over short‑term features.
What’s Coming Next
Looking ahead, development is progressing on additional EBF Cloud capabilities, including:
- An EBF Interface module designed to support integration with Infor SunSystems Cloud
- A new EBF Document API, incorporating AI‑enhanced document processing to improve automation and efficiency within finance workflows
These developments build directly on the foundations established by EBF Identity and EBF Mobile, further aligning EBF with modern cloud and data‑driven finance environments.
As these capabilities move into wider use, we’ll continue to share updates and work closely with customers to apply them where they deliver the most value.
If you’d like to explore how these developments fit into your broader roadmap or environment, your Core account team will be happy to discuss them further.
